WAKE UP YOUR HERO
"If the sun and moon should ever doubt, they would immediately go out." - Rumi
There are three very important yet simple things to consider when feeling doubtful of yourself or your purpose in life.
- You won the very first race you were ever in ...think about it.
- If you are reading this, then you have already survived every single decision you have made up to this point in your life.
- You already "knew enough" to be here on earth, at this time in history and in this life you now have.
Woodrow Wilson once said "You are here to enable the world to live more amply, with greater vision, and with a finer spirit of hope and achievement. You are here to enrich the world."
So if the above statements are true, then why are so many people stuck in the "base camp" of their mind? Watching instead while others suit up, hit the trail and disappear into the distance. We all know people like this (including ourselves from time to time). Seasons come and go with them saying "next year" or "someday." Yet they never get around to discovering what they want out of life or become too fearful over time to take a risk, make a decision and take action.
This is when it becomes clear it is time for a "Heroic Intervention."
Children already recognize the potential here. They immediately and effortlessly tap into their imagination creating a world where all things are possible especially when it comes to the actual traits and capabilities of the "Hero."
Ask any child how they would describe a Hero and you are likely to hear some of the following:
"Someone who always tells the truth"
"Someone kind and gentle, but who also protects you from the bad guys"
"Someone who knows what is right and wrong and always tries to do right"
"Someone who can do anything!"
"Someone like mommy or daddy but with special powers too!"
In working with many families over the years, I have heard parents ask their child "Well what do you think your favorite Hero would do"?
In today's world this can range from Dora the Explorer to Spiderman. There is also the less commercialized and authentic reference, "What would your kindest and best self do?".
There truly is a Hero within each one of us. An indestructible champion. Someone who holds the truth up for us to see at any time we have the courage to look, listen and act upon that knowledge. Someone that whispers calmly what to do and when. Who to trust, what direction to take and how to avoid harming ourselves and others. Encouraging us along the way and cheering us on, especially when we demonstrate the courage to step forward and claim our own unique personal power.
Life is such a delicious adventure and you have all you need to live an extraordinary life right NOW!
So wake up your personal Hero and decide TODAY to chart a course for the stars!
